EXPERIENCE ART, MUSIC, AND FILM AT MSP AIRPORT

The mission of the Arts@MSP program is to enhance the image of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), enrich the public’s experience and promote a sense of place through arts and culture. Working in partnership with the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), the Airport Foundation MSP began administering this program in 2008.

Please email us at arts@mspmac.org with any questions.

The commissioned artwork at MSP provides opportunities for the airport, artists and community to transform ordinary spaces into dynamic, meaningful places. The scope, composition and longevity of these works help to promote MSP’s sense of place by providing:

  • Thought-provoking and memorable experiences for airport users

  • Landmarks that help people navigate and orient themselves in the airport

  • Meaningful ways for people to experience our culture, environment and history

  • A venue with international exposure for regional artists

  • A sense of community pride

When stories go untold, they are lost forever.

PIANISTS WANTED!

OUR BAG CLAIM PIANO

The sound of music drifts throughout the Baggage Claim area, thanks to travelers and employees who like to tickle the ivories.  An offshoot of the popular Keys 4/4 Kids ‘Pianos on Parade’ Program in Saint Paul (which provides refurbished pianos for sale and to area charities),  the community piano is a great way for folks to unwind after a long flight or day at work.  Our current Kawai baby grand was donated anonymously by a AFMSP supporter whose only request was “she be allowed to come any play whenever she liked.”

see18 Season 10

The see18 Film Screening Room is the first state-of-the-art cinema in any major U.S. airport. Pulling content from TPT and TED, it features around-the-clock short films and award-winning documentaries by filmmakers from the Upper Midwest, including TPT Minnesota Originals. Travelers are able sit down and relax with a good film and experience our culture, history and people. Film screenings are free.

The room also features art exhibitions and intimate stage performances.

STAY CREATIVE WITH ARTS@MSP

As communities across the globe work to suppress the spread of COVID-19, Arts@MSP invites you to reconnect with Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport through the arts.

MSP’s art collection is inspired by the landscapes, the people, the animals, and the diverse cultures of Minnesota. Richly saturated mosaics grace the restrooms. Thoughtfully designed sculptures surprise guests with innovative use of materials and techniques. Gorgeous inlaid floors delight passengers with meaningful content and superior craftsmanship that will stand the test of time.

Make your world more colorful with coloring pages for children of all ages and abilities. Learn about the art collection at MSP Airport and engage with Minnesota’s creative community while non-essential travel is restricted.

Until you’re ready to fly again, have fun, relax, unwind, and #StayCreative with Arts@MSP, all from the comfort of home.
