Volunteer Spotlight

September Volunteer spotlight goes to Art Didrikson!

More about Art and his time here at the Airport Foundation MSP:

How long have you volunteered with the Airport Foundation MSP?

“7 years”

What type of shift do you typically do?

“Central Assistant 12-4p”

Why was the Foundation an appealing place to volunteer?

“I am a retired airline employee. Travelers Assistance allows me to stay "connected" to the industry I enjoyed working in, while at the same time, offering me the opportunity to assist travelers during their journeys.”

What is your favorite part of volunteering at the airport?

“Being able to offer a "helping" hand to travelers. I have always said that as a Volunteer you can do the littlest thing to assist a traveler, and it can be so appreciated. I always enjoy it when I offer suggestions, and later a traveler will stop back and personally thank me.”

What would you tell others who are considering volunteering with the Foundation?

“It is a truly flexible opportunity allowing you the chance to easily pick shifts and times that work with your schedule. Best of all...it is a volunteer experience where you can feel truly appreciated by those you support during their travels”

Travelers Assistance Volunteers are available at Information Booths across MSP Terminal 1 and 2 to answer questions about how to navigate through the airport, as well as how to navigate to area attractions such as the Mall of America. Stop by an MSP Airport Information Booth to pick up Tourism reference materials and find yourself at great Minnesota destinations like the Mall of America and other exciting attractions across the State!
