Automated External Defibrillators (AEDS)
Life-Saving AEDs Throughout The Airport
In recent years, the Airport Foundation granted $50,000 to fund an additional 20-25 AEDs at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Previously, over $60,000 was donated to fund AEDs for MSP International and six reliever airports.
The Airport Fire Department used the grant to purchase additional AEDs—100 total now at the MSP International Airport campus—and create appropriate signage for the units. The new AED units can correctly defibrillate pediatric patients, coach users on CPR and use less electricity (resulting in a gentler shock to the heart).
Keeping MSP Attractive For Visitors And Staff
The Airport Foundation funds numerous projects to enhance and beautify both terminals, inside and out. Projects include:
- Decorative floor mosaics
- Hanging flower baskets
- MSP welcome sign
- Replica of the Spirit of St. Louis from the 1957 movie
Children’s Play Areas
Indoor Play Areas Let Kids Be Kids
The Airport Foundation has funded construction of two custom children’s play areas at MSP International Airport:
- Terminal 1-Lindbergh in Concourse C by Gate C12
- Terminal 2-Humphrey by Gate H6
Children and adults are able to take advantage of a large enclosed space where children can play and release some energy after the confines of the airplane.
Our custom play areas were designed and built by Blue Rhino Studios, located in Eagan, Minnesota.
