MSP Airport Employee of the Year winners announced

Three Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) employees were recognized through the Airport Foundation MSP’s Employee of the Year program at the May 16 MAC Commission meeting.
The Employee of the Year Award was created to honor MSP employees who provide outstanding customer service. Fondly called “The Dorothy” in honor of 60-year MAC employee Dorothy Schaeffer, this award is given annually to three employees nominated by their peers.
Congratulations to this year’s Employee of the Year recipients:

VinceVince Bennett, Delta Air Lines

As a bag room customer service agent, Vince has a deep, personal commitment to ensuring customers’ luggage is delivered to each flight on time and understands his role in ensuring that customers have a great travel experience. Because he recognizes this importance, he volunteers to mentor new hires to pass on that appreciation. In addition to his work in the bag room, Vince also serves on the MSP Airport Health & Wellness Committee, the Metropolitan Airports Commission Safety Committee and is the chairperson for the MSP Joint Safety Committee.

LynneLynne Krispin, Southwest Airlines

Lynne loves to help people, which is what makes her an outstanding baggage claim clerk. She routinely helps passengers with their luggage – especially seniors and families traveling with children – and often goes out of her way to meet passengers at curbside with late or lost luggage. In addition to going above and beyond in her day-to-day work, Lynne volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House and also sits on a Southwest employee committee that promotes job satisfaction.

MarkMark Takamiya, Metropolitan Airports Commission

Mark, a Terminal 2-Humphrey operations agent, is a walking encyclopedia of airport knowledge. He knows the entire campus like the back of his hand and goes out of his way to help the traveling public. In addition to excelling at his job, Mark spends his days off supporting MSP by volunteering for Airport Watch, the Airport Foundation MSP’s Travelers Assistance program, and Customs and Border Protection. He’s also a member of the Airport Community Emergency Resource Team (ACERT).
