6th Annual Employee Art Show
The 6th Annual Employee Art Show 126 local artists recieved honors Friday, December 4th, 2015 at an awards ceremony celebrating the sixth annual MSP Employee Art Show, sponsored by the National Arts Program. The exhibit, held at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, recognized MSP employees, volunteers and their families. Dennis Probst, Executive Vice President for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Sue Gens, Executive Director for the Minnesota State Arts Board, and Robyne Robinson ARTS@MSP Director for Airport Foundation MSP, presented awards to the winning artists, as well as recognized all participants.
The exhibit, located at the Thomson Reuters Concourse C Art Gallery (Terminal 1-Lindbergh), features works created by artists representing 13 companies operating at MSP Airport. Artworks include mixed media, sculpture, painting, photography, craft, and works on paper. Many of the exhibitors say they enjoy taking part because it gives them an opportunity to display their artwork to an international audience of thousands.
The exhibit was curated by and Robyne Robinson, ARTS@MSP Director at Airport Foundation MSP, and juried by two independent judges from the creative arts and media community: Carolyn Payne executive director at SOO Visual Arts Center in Minneapolis, and Joan Vorderbruggen, Cultural District Arts Coordinator for Hennepin Theater Trust in Minneapolis. Sixteen winners were chosen from 126 entrants and awarded cash prizes.
