Jim is a native of Chicago who grew up listening to his father’s accordion and record collection of popular Polish and American music. Jim’s early music experiences took him from accordion to rock-n-roll organ and then finally to piano. His passion for the piano has continued to this day through the different venues of performance, composition and arranging, and peer collaborations.
In his latest long-term project, Jim enjoys searching out piano arrangements encompassing different genres of American popular music, both new and old. He especially enjoys the challenge of learning arrangements that show off the styles of some of the famous popular and jazz music pianists of the past. That would include pianists like George Shearing, Art Tatum, George Gershwin and Eddie Duchin. Jim also creates his own piano arrangements of certain pop and rock tunes.
